Jawahar Lal Nehru once said, “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”
We know that Independence Day is an important day in the history of India. For most Indians in India or abroad, the date of 15th August, is ingrained in our minds. Our school also celebrates this day. We start celebrating this day with March-past and a speech from our Principal. After that, our school students perform acts on Indian history, different patriotic plays and songs. Children also perform dances on patriotic songs. We celebrate this day to inculcate patriotic feelings among the students.
